Happy Halloween!

Anne of the Green Gables

One of my friends went to Canada for a short home stay last summer, and she gave me this book as a souvenir. I read it in a short time.
When I was in Junior high school , I read this book and its 8 sequel in Japanese. I gave up to read its last sequel. I loved Anne of Greed Gables, but I never been to Prince Edward Island. I hope
I can go there someday.

Starting to bloom.

Can you see this tiny lavender bud?
This plant is the second year what I started to grow it from a seed.
This place does not get enough sunshine, so that it didn't grow well.
Lavenders usually bloom in July here in Hokkaido. I hope it will
bloom before we have frost.

Yesterday's harvest

 

It's my first time to grow these green skin red

daikon, or radish.

The inside is deep purple which is so beautiful!

First, I made Daikon-oroshi, or grated daikon.

Then, I made these Hello Kitty shaped ones, and 

I made Nabe or Japanese hot pot with them and 

some other ingredients.
