tempura soba

I took buckwheat noodle making class yesterday. I missed the class for two times, because I had to work. It was my second time to make soba, or buckwheat noodles. We learned kaeshi, or soba soup mix that day. The soba soup was delicious, so I want to make soba soup from scratch. I usually buy mentsuyu, and use it instead of soy souce. I made tempura soba for lunch, and made kashiwa soba, or chicken soba for dinner. They were both good!.

Kirin Sakura&Peach tea

At this time of the year, many food companies produce spring items. I found this sakura, or cherry blossom and peach flavored tea. It didn't smell like cherry blossoms, but  tasted like peach  a lot. I love if it had less sugar.

Toji 2012.Dec. 21st.

We eat Zenzai, or Aruki beans sweet soup on Toji every year.
We take  Yuzuyu, or a citrus bath on that day, but I forgot to buy fresh citrus this year. Therefore, we took this yuzu flavored bath salt.
I made these azuki pancake with the leftover zenzai. It was super easy to make them, but they tasted good.

Chigai-nabe

Since my mother bought a tiny griddle pan this summer, we often made "Nabe", or Japanese hot pot even in summer. This time, I made "Chigai nabe". "Chigai "means baby scallops. The broth taste like scallop, so it was good.

Boo! Halloween Hiyayakko

I thought it was for a Halloween season the end of October, so a nice recipe came up to my head. I made these Halloween Hiyayakko which meant " cold tofu". I bought a Kibun company's pumpkin tofu, a black sesami seed tofu, and a white sesami tofu. Then cut them with some Halloween cookie cutters. That't it. It was super easy cooking. Please try to make some, if you like it.
