Hana Fukin

Last night when I turned on TV, a crafty show showed us how to make Hana Fukin, or a sashiko stitched Japanese cotton dish towel. The next chinese zodiac year is a rabbit year, so an instructer taught us how to make a rabbit stitched tea towel. I' ve been watching a Korean love comedy drama called " You're beautiful". In the drama, a stuffed toy rabbit which has a pig shaped nose sometimes appears. It 's so cute, so I wanted to stich like it for the cotton towel, but I changed my mind. It turned out cute, anyway. Arrrrggg??? It's already have some stains!!

Getting shabbier..., but I couldn't throw away....

I made this reversible tote bag about two years ago. I used a cheap US flag printed bandanna for this side with cheap quilt batting. I sashiko stitched with some sashiko threads for the other side. I wanted to make a sashiko stitched dish towel for the other side, and it turned out cute. Then, I changed my mind, and I made this fabric tote bag. I used and washed this a lot, so it has become soooo worn out. I think you see lots of pilings from this side. I reversed this bag, and used the inside out. As I washed it, some color had come off, and became soo ugly. I wanted to throw this away, but changed my mind again. I made a big pocket with some leftover(? ) tiny piece of fabrics to hide for the most horrible parts. I sawed a very cheap bear shaped button. It turned out cute, or....just shabby-chic?(esque?)

Cheap christmas cake 2010,1

I am good at making cheap easy dishes and sweets sometimes. For this cake, I used a very cheap chiffon cake, so all I had to do was just decorated these ornaments and whipped cream on the cheap cake.LOL Please try to make some if you want.

Aspalagus in snow

Althoug the asparagus berry(seed?) is blurred, I can see some snow flakes shining. If my camera was really good, I could have taken the snow flakes clearly???

Snow

It was a fine day yesterday. The weather forecast said it would snow tomorrow, but I didn't believe it. When I got up this morning, the out side was like these. We haven't had much snow this year, which is good for me. It is because I don't need to shove the snow, nor drive on the slippery road.Today's snow was so slushy. I think it will melt away tomorrow. I bought a pair of rubber boots yesterday, so I wore them today. Yay!

Romanesuko

I don't know this yellow green cauliflower's English name. Last year I bought these seeds, and seeded them. I don't know why, but none of them sprouted. I still had rest of the seeds, so I seed
ed them again this spring. I thought none of them didn't sprouted this year, either. One day,I realized two romanesco plants were growing. They didn't big enough to eat, but we ate them before we had frost. They tasted like ordinary white cauliflowers.

frozen blue berry leaves

I couldn't see anything through...

Nasty season has already come for me( or many people).Since it was soooo cold early morning the other day, my cars windows were all frozen. I had to heat my car and cleared off the frost.....Otherwise, I couldn't drive....

Chigai-nabe

Since my mother bought a tiny griddle pan this summer, we often made "Nabe", or Japanese hot pot even in summer. This time, I made "Chigai nabe". "Chigai "means baby scallops. The broth taste like scallop, so it was good.

Pumpkin gratin

We grew pumpkins this year, and got several. Also, my aunt gave us some pumpkins the other day. Therefore, we cook ed some pumpkin dishes. This is a pumpkin gratin which I made. I used sliced chedder cheese, that's why most ingredients looks yellow. That was so tasty.
